SEO Aspects Of Your Release

There are 3 main benefits to a press release.

1) Media interest and attention to your site
2) The traffic this produces and
3) The benefits in search rankings.

Search rankings come from; the way your page is optimized for your target keyword and the number and quality of links there are to the site.

Headline Keyword
Always ensure your keyword is at the start of your headline. Google and other search engines will index based on this – and this is where the traffic will come from.

Embed links into the text
A good press release distributor will allow you to embed up to 3 links into your text. The links should have anchor text so that the search engines understand what the link is about.

This is a link: http://www.mysite.com/excellent-product

This is a link with anchor text:
My Excellent Product

Embedded within a paragraph all you would see is “My Excellent Product”, but it tells the search engine what the target of the link is – which in turn increases your ranking for the phrase.

1st Link Counts
This is one of the most overlooked factors in search engine optimization. When Google scans a page for links – it will find a link to a destination page and examine that link for anchor text and all the other signals in its algorithm. When it finds the next link, if it goes to the same page, it will be ignored.

To illustrate this through example:

Lets assume a web page has the following links in it.

Link A: www.yahoo.com/page1 Anchor Text: “A great Page”

Link B: www.yahoo.com/page1 Anchor Text: “This is nonsense”

Link B anchor text “This is nonsense” will get ignored.

If however the links were the following:

Link A: www.yahoo.com/page1 Anchor Text: “A great Page”

Link B: www.yahoo.com/a-nonsense-page Anchor Text: “This is nonsense”

Then link B would be counted and get the benefits of the algorithm.

When you are optimizing for a press release you should expect to have at least 3 anchor text link opportunities in your submission. You can see that it is fruitless to create 3 different anchor-texts back to the same url. Therefore, create 1 for your home page, the second for a category page and a third for another page on your site that you.re trying to promote.

When you do your subsequent press release then choose a different anchor text for each of those links. (It‟s very important not to use one anchor text all the time – and you should mix it up with other similar words).

How to supercharge your releases and deliver power to your marketing efforts.

2. Product Images - Showing your products if at all possible adds substance the news. It helps the reader identify with what you are explaining and portrays a solid professional look to your news.

3. Videos - Embedding videos is another way of showing your product or a way of getting your message across. You can get the "embed" code from your video and paste it into your news submission.

Write A Press Release (The right way to get your business noticed!) PT 1

Everyone has heard of press releases. However not many people consider them for online exposure, traffic and for improving your search ranking – maybe because the costs are too prohibitive or because they don‟t have „worthy‟ news?
Many people think that a press release can only be written and submitted by a PR professional. In fact anyone can write a release for their business or website and publish to get attention.

That‟s not to say that this replaces the role of the PR consultant at all. Where the professional really adds value is to get your business in personal contact with the media. This can only be done effectively with the consultant‟s contacts in your specific business area, but of course, there is a huge price for that.

I am providing this with the smaller business in mind that doesn‟t necessarily have the wallet to fund large PR campaigns, but would like to see the benefits of attention and improvements in traffic to their business, that an online release provides.

How To Write a Press Release for Online Distribution
The traditional way to get noticed in the press and online is to write and publish a press release and hope that it gets picked up and mentioned in a high volume newspaper or radio station. The other benefit, which is equally important in today‟s online world, is if you get it posted correctly it will be syndicated to many websites who will back-link to your site and lift you up the rankings in the search engines.

Google and others see these links as high value as they are coming from official news sources. If your release is distributed correctly, Google will actually list them in its own news service guaranteeing you traffic as well. This will normally happen the day after you publish.

Many people tell me they don't know how to write a press release and many tell me they use a PR agency “for all that stuff”. Well my answer to them is "Who knows the most about your product or service? - Yes you do" …so who better to write it? Its really not that difficult and you just need to need to follow a formula.

Image-Sharing Sites

A sand-artist from the Philippines was posted on YouTube and out of the strokes of his hands and sand a picture was drawn. There is a saying that goes like this: "A picture is worth a thousand words." And if it so, how much will it worth then the pictures or images and photographs posted on Flickr.com, Photobucket.com, ImageShack.com, and other image-sharing sites. Many would think that image-sharing sites are simply sharing images or photos but, it's not just that. Image-sharing sites are places to connect with others who share some of your addiction. Image-sharing sites provides you a great opportunity for your business specially to those people who are in photography, arts, graphic or web-design or some other related business.

First very important thing that you have to do is to create a compelling profile so as to snatch attention from viewers. Having done so, a way to get connected with you must be made. Your profile then, should include a link to your website or blog, and a description of your products or services.

In 15 minutes a day, the following are what you can do to use image-sharing sites to find and connect with your targeted audience having created your profile.

  • Spend two minutes uploading new images to your site with the best material. The image should properly express or show your brand and personality.
  • In three minutes, describe your images. Put tags on the images which your contacts will use as they search for images.
  • In three minutes, write descriptions for your images. Words must be clear and vivid. Link them to your site or blog.
  • In four minutes, locate new groups to join and sign up. Do this by searching groups by keyword. See to it that you add your images to your new groups after you joined.
  • In three minutes, make comments on images from your contacts and co-group members.

To get the attention of others you have to provide your best image. Concentrate on quality over quantity.

Other People's Blog

If you want another very effective and efficient social media, it is commenting on other people's blogs. People do not notice this. This is an opportunity for you. This has few competition. But this is a highly effective way to boost your visibility. When you post on other people's blogs, you may quickly and efficiently snatch or leverage the success and audience of other blogs.

Plan your technique before you begin to post. You should make a list of about 20 blogs in your niche that is interesting and will catch attention to readers since you want a site where people will come into your industry.

When you do this, keep in mind to have different goals. An instance is that when you want to establish a relationship with the blogger or other bloggers in your niche, your aim is to make yourself as an expert. Another, when you want attention from Google, create backlinks. Your own site to have whatever, your goal is accomplished by reading posts, making interesting and useful comments, and you can build on the conversations that is already going on.

See to it that everyday for 15 minutes you visit some of the blogs on your list and read the posts. Make relevant comments if needed. Provide links back to your blog. When you do, the following rules could be effective:

1. Keep in mind that you are in others blog. As such, you must be gracious. Be supportive, kind and polite. Be tactful when you disagree with other bloggers. Do not spoil the conversation.

2. Make sure your posts do not sound spam. Comments like, "Great posts, thanks!" are generally considered spam. Try to comment with additional idea or context on the topic. Be specific too.

3. Do not be sidetracked. Listen to the scenario I read, and I quote: "You and a friend are at Starbucks, sitting and sipping your lattes, chatting about the best place to buy a digital camera". If someone at the next table pulled up a chair and said, "I sell ink cartridges -- wanna see?". You'd like roll your eyes and move as far from him as possible.

You would sure love your business grow and succeed. It's not an easy as you may think commenting on other people's blogs. It will not make you easily rich but it's a great and effective way to build strong relationships with others, with the customers in your industry. It will help.

Your Blog

"Expert" bloggers would like people to believe that blogging calls for a kind of Ph.D degree and part-time engagement has no place in creating words that Webster may have missed to record in his dictionary. This is not so. In fact, to their dismay, business people err, assuming blogging as some kind of secret skill that they will never know and learn. May I tell you that if you can hold a conversation with a neighbor or with somebody, then you can blog.

There are many benefits of blogging. They were been covered widely in different forms. But the point of the matter is that blogging is a very effective way in showcasing your expertise in connection with potential customers and partners, and establishes your on-line identity.

There are several books and videos that you can find. But in here, I would like to show you how to blog in 15 minutes a day.

When your blog is setup, you will now give effort on two main aspects, they are adding content and promoting your site. Since success of your blog lies on these two topics, it should be better to alternate between them. One day, add a new post or other content to your blog. Then spend your 15 minutes promoting your blog the next day. The following is a list-to-do in order to create good content in 15 minutes.

1. Make a list - Post 5 mistakes most people of your business do. 5 bloggers who follow most in your niche or 5 most read book of new comers to your industry.

2. Put an audio - Switch on your microphone, then record a sort monologue regarding topics that affect your emotion -- either you become angry, happy, or make you laugh and cry. Perhaps you may even use an app on your smartphone and record on the go to -- this will even save more time.

3. Add a video -- You may go on YouTube. Search for videos compatible to your business, pick one to set or furnish your own blog. State also some comments.

4. Write a short review about anything of internet. Show pros and cons.

5. Upload a photo - Your own photo, maybe a photo of one you found on a photo-sharing site. Make it appropriate to your audience.

6. You may ask someone in the business some questions, then post what took place .

7. Provide several resources online to post that your readers may be interested in.

8. Answer questions your readers posted.

9. Check out easy EasyPLR.com and inquire on how to purchase and use Private Label Rights content or PLR content.

If you have already satisfying content, then you can next promote it. When you are not writing or posting content, find a time to promote your blog and use the following things or list-to-do it:

1. Three minutes linking to your most popular posts on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, LinkedIn and other sites. This will also be done automatically by these sites.

2. In four minutes, through your blog in the comments section, you respond to comments from readers.

3. In three minutes, you make internal links on your blog posts from a link to another. Example, link it to other posts you have written on the same topic when you write a post on recipes.

4. In five minutes, you can make changes to your blog then you submit it to article directory.

As what have been citing, always remember that a few important, valuable, useful, and relevant contents in a short time is better than consuming your whole time with shallow, useless, nonsense, content.
